Year 9 cover work

Dear year 9. Watch this video, listen CAREFULLY to the orchestral instruments and complete the worksheets your teacher hands to you.

I know you can behave immaculately. Students who caused trouble during these lessons will not be allowed on practical next week once I return.

Rewards:
For 1 I.D point. Watch the videos carefully and silently, complete the comparative sheets as you go along. Each bit is 30 minutes long, so DO NOT leave it until the videos are done.

For 2 I.D points: complete all worksheets. Ensure you have put your name on the sheet. 

Remember: Pitch: High or low
                    Timbre: Tone colour (what type of instrument? Brass/Woodwind/String etc)

Dear year 9.  You will be working on Macs this lesson to complete the listening requirements of your tasks this half-term.

Reminder of your ONGOING DAILY homework of preparing for your Ukulele practical in December. You can use one of the academy's Ukulele's, rehearsal times available in Room 207 is Tuesday-Thursday 3.40-4.30.  See the UKULELE page on the blog for more information on pieces you can learn.

Starter: Sign on to the Macs. You should be working by yourself.

Extension
1. Complete the fill in sheet on all 4 families of the orchestra to gain 2 I.D points of your work this lesson.

2. Complete the research sheet on all 4 families.  All three pieces of work will be taken in on Monday 19th November 2018. The 2nd Extension will be ongoing to be completed and presented to the class on 22nd November. 

MONDAY 19th NOVEMBER 
Make sure the worksheets above are all completed. You will be expected to know this work inn your assessment in December.

3. Complete the assessment task on the instruments of the orchestra. 
You must listen to the following clips and answer the work at the bottom of your assessment.

Listen to The set work: Rainbow- Since you been gone. Compare it to Queen: We are the champions.

2. listen to the set work Eine Kleine Nachtmusik by Mozart. 


Compare  it to Chopin's Fantasie Imprormptu op.60

Students who are Completed with all their work above (MUST be able to show the teacher all of the worksheets above, and with the teacher's approval may be allowed to get a ukulele (tune according to a ukulele video on youtube) and work on a Christmas carol as according to the Ukulele Page on this blog.
